Hon Son is a famous pristine tourist destination about 55-65km from Rach Gia. This place is known as the Vietnamese version of Robinson Island or the Western Maldives.
With many trips to Hon Son (An Giang province), Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong (Can Tho City) shared a 2-day 1-night weekend itinerary.

Day 1
Moving Rach Gia - Hon Son
6:30 - 8:30: Moving by high-speed train from Rach Gia wharf. After about 1 hour and 30 minutes, you will set foot on the pier.
9am: Pick up a motorbike and move to the homestay to check in.
10:30 AM: Rest or run around Bai Bac, Bai Nha areas to see the sea; drink coffee, snack.

Recharge energy
Visit eateries in the Bai Nha area and try herring salad wrapped in rice paper, sour snakehead fish soup, ginger-steamed squid...
Explore the coastal road, swim in the sea
2:30 PM: Ride a motorbike around the island. The approximately 16km long route will pass through majestic cliffs and mesmerizingly beautiful sea views. Don't forget to stop at Yen Ngua Peak to take a panoramic view of the beach from above.
4pm: Stop at Bai Bang. This is the most beautiful beach in Hon Son with smooth white sand and tilted coconut trees. Swim in the sea, take check-in photos with legendary coconut trees.

Seafood feast
From 5:30 PM: After swimming in the sea, you can ask for directions to the local market to buy fresh seafood (sea urchin, snail, tiny shrimp, crab... ) to ask the kitchen at the homestay to process. You should enjoy grilled sea urchin with scallion oil and grilled snails.

Day 2
Conquer Ma Thien Lanh
6 am: Some young people who like to exercise can choose to trek to Ma Thien Lanh peak - the highest peak of Hon Son (about 450m). The road has steps that are quite easy to move but require endurance.
8 am: From here, the entire sea scene will be captured in sight. This is a great camera angle to observe the change in the appearance of the Southwest sea area.
09:30: Go down the mountain, stop by a coastal coffee shop to rest.
Coastal souvenir shops have quite affordable prices. You also have specialty tamarind stone in boxes to give as gifts to relatives, family... before saying goodbye to Hon Son.

Check-out, lunch
Around 11:00 AM: Check-out, then have lunch with Hon Son garlic steamed chicken to replenish energy.
12:30 PM: Take the high-speed train to Rach Gia and end the journey.
Notes
Tourists should contact to book rooms 1-2 weeks in advance to choose a beautiful view, you can choose a self-sufficient combo including round-trip train tickets, accommodation, motorbike transportation, breakfast (ranging from 900,000 - 1,100,000 VND, depending on the time).
With this method, tourists coming to Hon Son only need to add lunch and dinner, as well as choose entertainment spots and cafes according to their preferences.
The ideal time to travel to Hon Son is in the dry season from November to April of the following year, when the sea is calm and the water clear blue.
Tourists can take a high-speed train from Rach Gia wharf, it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
