During her trip across Vietnam in the summer of 2025, Nguyen Huong Linh (35 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) set a goal of driving along the coast to explore all the famous tourist destinations, and the unknown but beautiful places, of the S-shaped strip of land. Among these destinations, she was quite impressed with Ghenh Bang on Son Tra peninsula, Son Tra district, Da Nang city.
Before the trip, the female tourist only knew Ghenh Bang through movies and photo shoots on social networks. Attracted by the beautiful photos of this pristine beach, Ms. Linh decided to include Ghenh Bang in the list of must-see places when traveling across Vietnam.
"It seems like everyone else is using apps and editing software, so the image is a bit more sparkling than reality. I look at and see Ghenh Bang as beautiful as a hidden paradise," Ms. Linh shared.
Ghenh Bang is located next to But and Che beaches, connecting to Ghenh Rang Strait. To get to Ghenh Bang tourist destination, visitors will follow Vo Nguyen Giap street and Hoang Sa street, a route that can be considered the most beautiful in Da Nang coastal city. Driving to Son Tra peninsula, a female tourist from Ho Chi Minh City asked water sellers around the parking area to know the way down to Ghenh Bang.

"I went down for about 20 minutes, the distance was not long but it was really difficult to go and quite dangerous. The initial road was small, the lower it went down, the more the road became steep and slippery; there were even sections where I had to swing a rope to get down, stressed because I was afraid of falling, hitting rocks...", she recalled.
The dangerous road down to Ghenh Bang is something that online posts rarely mention or have clear instructions for.
The female tourist expressed: "I am very grateful to the people here for putting ropes on the difficult road. In fact, if there are no ropes to swing, the road will be extremely dangerous. No one in the group of tourists or I was seriously injured when going down to Ghenh Bang. My friend slipped and fell a few times, luckily there were only scratches on the outside."
Due to the lack of warning information, not only Ms. Linh but many other tourists did not prepare their clothes properly for trekking. Ms. Linh wore a long sweater and sandals; therefore, moving in the forest was even more difficult.

This location lacks safety conditions and warning information for tourists. In addition, what disappointed Ms. Linh the most was that the roads, mountain crevices, banks... were all full of garbage.
"Removing the above ugliness, for me, Ghenh Ban is truly a place worth visiting, worth preserving my image. This place is a small, beautiful hidden beach with treacherous rock covering the road and unique stone crevices. This is still a worthy experience, I brought beautiful photos, know a new location... I hope that visitors coming here will raise their awareness of environmental protection, clean up trash before leaving," she said.

Tourists to Da Nang City can find a way to Son Tra Peninsula. From the confluence of the North, going towards Hoang Sa road about 500m, visitors will see a sign instructing them to park their motorbikes to get off the Bang Ghenh.
There was a tour guide here. The road down is a small winding road, with steep slopes, forcing visitors to climb into trees or ropes tied along the road to maintain balance.
Although the distance is only about 1 km long, tourists usually take about 20-30 minutes to get there. For locals who are used to the road, the time may be shorter.
The most difficult part is about 100 m before going to the beach, where there are many large rocks and water flowing down from the cliff to form a slippery moss layer. Visitors need to hold fast to the rope and move carefully to ensure safety.
