On November 19, Mr. Phang Ga (33 years old, porter in Lao Cai) led a group of 6 members to Phu Sa Phin peak, also known as Ta Xua.
Surprised to see the ice and snow phenomenon appear earlier than usual, Mr. Phang Ga immediately introduced it to the members accompanying him and did not forget to take photos.
He said: "In previous years, ice and snow usually appeared in December. However, this year, ice and snow will appear earlier, even before the end of November. I am a local resident here so I have seen ice and snow many times; in the group, there were people from the South to the North climbing mountains, so the guests were very excited".

Mr. Phang Ga also added that when he climbed Phu Sa Phin peak, the outdoor temperature was 0 degrees Celsius, very cold. snowflakes are stuck on branches of trees 1 meter or more high.
"According to my experience in mountain climbing, when the temperature drops and it rains, there will definitely be a frost in the morning. Today, the weather has changed quite a few times with rain, ice and sea of clouds. By the afternoon, the weather was sunny again. The temperature in the late evening was 6 degrees Celsius," he revealed.

Phu Sa Phin peak belongs to the old Yen Bai, now Lao Cai province, and is known as a destination for those who are passionate about challenges and conquests. The original name of this peak helps visitors distinguish it from Ta Xua peak in Son La province, a place originally for those who want to seek a gentle trip and enjoy peace.
With an altitude of about 2,865m above sea level, Phu Sa Phin is located at the end of the Hoang Lien Son range stretching from Lai Chau down to Lung Lo Pass. This is the highest mountain peak in the Ta Xua range, the natural boundary between Lao Cai and Son La provinces,
These days, the Northern region is cloudy, continuing to cool down due to the influence of the strongest cold air mass since the beginning of winter. Cold weather, some places are very cold; mountainous and midland areas are very cold, high mountainous areas have some places are very cold. The lowest temperature ranges from 12-15 degrees Celsius, the high mountains of the Northeast are cold in some places below 5 degrees Celsius.
Similar to Ta Xua, the locals recorded the top of Ngu Chi Son mountain, over 2,800 m high, located on the border between Sa Pa commune (Lao Cai) and Binh Lu commune (Lai Chau) with ice from the morning of November 19 and continued to remain there until the afternoon of the same day when the temperature dropped. However, the ice density is not as dense as in Phu Sa Phin.
