The success of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, people across the country - especially in Ho Chi Minh City - still leave a mark, spreading deep emotions in the community. On social networks, impressive images from the parade and air force performance continue to be widely shared.
Among them is a photo series called "In the Middle of Glory" by freelance photographer Nguyen Khanh Vu Khoa. To date, the photo series has attracted tens of thousands of interactions and comments.
Not the usual scenes seen in the bustling city, but the image of Su-30MK2 fighter jets flying on the sky of Ho Chi Minh City, dropping heat traps in the resounding sound, leaving white smoke like painting a historical mark on the sky.
It is rare, sometimes in the whole life, for the citys residents to see helicopters flying with flags and fighter jets perform like that, Mr. Vu Khoa recalled.
With a passion for photography and a passion for recording the most authentic things, he spent nearly a whole week closely following each rehearsal until the official show date. Under the harsh sun or sudden rain, he and his teammates persistently "hunt" for the most beautiful frames.
When the engine sound echoed in the air, carrying white smoke streaks like tearing the sky, Mr. Khoa realized that what he recorded was not just an image. It is also a common memory of the people of Ho Chi Minh City, depicting the moments of pride, the national spirit burning. It was that rising emotion that inspired him to name the photo "in the middle of the glory".
Initially, the photo series was shared as a normal post in the photography community. But its spread is beyond expectations. Many young people have downloaded photos to create wallpaper for phones and computers, sent thanks, asked for original photos and called it a "sacred moment".
Someone told me that just seeing photos every morning gives me more inspiration to work, more motivation to love life, he said with a smile.
For him, this is not a set of forever photos for technique, but for sincere emotions - emotions echoed from a special event, a rare spirit of national unity.
It was not just airplanes in the sky that day. It has the belief, gratitude and aspiration to rise up of this nation, Mr. Vu Khoa affirmed.
