On the morning of June 26, information from the Binh Dinh Fisheries Sub-Department (Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Environment) said that at around 4:30 p.m. on June 25, a large whale appeared and hunted in the waters of the Hon Kho area (Nhon Hai commune, Quy Nhon city), attracting the attention of many people and tourists.
Mr. Dang Van Hai (born in 1993, residing in Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh) - a photographer who is passionate about taking photos, while taking photos of the dreamy sea in Hon Kho, said that he accidentally encountered a whale rushing into the water to hunt for prey.

The scene of the whale opening its mouth to hunt on the blue sea, above which are floating seabirds was filmed by Mr. Hai and shared on Facebook, quickly attracting the attention of the community.
Previously, on June 7, a tour guide also recorded a scene of whale hunting for prey while taking a group of tourists to visit the beach in My An commune (Phu My district).
A whale about 5m long, weighing about 600kg, continuously moves up the water surface to open its mouth to hunt for prey. The wild, fascinating scenery with the flock of seabirds flying around makes many tourists excited, continuously recording rare moments.
According to Mr. Vu Long - an expert from the Center for Biodiversity and endangered Species Conservation (CBES), the whale appearing in Hon Kho is likely to be a Balaenoptera edeni species, which has been recorded in the waters of De Gi (Phu Cat district) and Hoai My commune (Hoai Nhon town) in recent years.
The Binh Dinh Fisheries Sub-Department said that the frequent appearance of whale near the shore is a positive sign, showing that the marine environment in the locality is improving. Abundant food sources and rich ecosystems are an important factor in attracting rare marine species such as whale to live and hunt for prey in coastal waters.
