At the final session of the 25th Session of the 13th term of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province, term 2021 - 2026 (afternoon of June 25), Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan reported and clarified the results and key tasks of socio-economic development.
The development bottleneck is removed
According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, in 2024, Binh Dinh's budget revenue will reach more than VND 15,600 billion, exceeding 7.8% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council and increasing by 23% compared to 2023. In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the province has collected about VND9,600 billion - the highest level ever, so the target of reaching over VND18,000 billion for the whole year is "able to do so".
Investment attraction has achieved many impressive results, becoming a bright spot in the province with the dense appearance of large projects. A typical example is a project with an investment capital of 1 billion USD, which has just been directly granted an Investment Registration Certificate in Sweden by the Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee.
He said that in just the first 6 months of this year, the number of industrial parks and clusters established was equal to the total of the previous 5 years combined, creating a lot of room for development for the province in the next 5 to 10 years.
The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee affirmed that this term the province has completed and exceeded all set targets, the result is the result of the efforts and determination of the entire political system.
He shared that when he first returned to the province to take up the task, the budget collection target of VND16,000 billion once made him nervous and worried, because this was not an easy number to achieve in the context that Binh Dinh did not have a really big project to look forward to. However, with a high spirit of determination and responsibility, the set goals and plans have been completed.
"During this period, the province's staff has matured rapidly and is very confident. Previously, when faced with a project worth several hundred billion VND, the staff were somewhat shy and worried. But now the mindset is different, implementing a project worth a few hundred million USD is a simple matter," Mr. Tuan assessed.
The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee confidently said that bottlenecks that have hindered the province's development such as the airport and expressway upgrade project Quy Nhon - Pleiku have been resolved.
"The airport project will start construction on August 19, expected to be completed in 10 months and will become an international airport. The province is also determined to start construction of the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway in October, along with other key projects," Mr. Tuan emphasized.
The new apparatus must "run" effectively immediately after the announcement
Speaking at the closing session, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province - said that the session took place in the context of a historic moment when there were still a few days left for Binh Dinh and Gia Lai to officially "come home together", becoming the new Gia Lai province.
According to Mr. Dung, the 13th term People's Council of Binh Dinh province has fulfilled its role as a representative of the will, aspirations and mastery of the people. He also said that in the past 5 years, the province's socio-economic development has developed remarkably, completing 100% of the set targets.
The Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee suggested that immediately after the meeting, the Standing Committee of the People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee urgently implement the contents related to the merger in accordance with the direction of the Central and Provincial Party Committee; soon stabilize the organizational apparatus, ensuring effective operation immediately after the new province officially announced on June 30. This is to ensure the administrative apparatus operates stably and continuously, without any congestion in resolving the requirements of people and businesses.
According to the plan, the first session of the new Gia Lai Provincial People's Council will take place on July 1, to decide on the establishment of specialized agencies under the new Provincial People's Committee and a number of other important contents. Mr. Dung suggested that the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province and relevant agencies closely coordinate with Gia Lai, prepare well the contents, and ensure the session is successful.
"Up to this point, the activities of the 13th term People's Council of Binh Dinh province have been completed and officially ended, concluding a vibrant term, with many important milestones, to enter a new journey," said Mr. Dung.
