Taking advantage of the center
The expansion of administrative boundaries and strengthening regional linkages have helped Can Tho City consolidate its position as the economic, cultural, and tourism center of the Mekong Delta. This creates favorable conditions for businesses to develop connecting tourism products, connecting Can Tho City with neighboring provinces.

Ms. Luong Thi Quynh - Deputy Director of Vietravel Can Tho branch - commented that after the merger, the related products have many conditions for development and are more popular with tourists. In particular, young families, young people and elderly visitors often choose tours aimed at resorts and local cultural experiences.
In the Western region, we are focusing on exploiting the strengths of historical culture and eco-tourism. In addition to familiar destinations, the online tours have been renewed by integrating local cultural characteristics such as Khmer culture, Chinese pagodas, festivals, and traditional craft villages to diversify tourism products, said Ms. Quynh.

Not only travel agencies, resorts and accommodation facilities are also actively cooperating to bring rich experiences to tourists.
A representative of Cantho Eco Resort shared that the unit has stepped up cooperation with travel companies to expand its customer base and provide multiple services. In particular, the unit focuses on integrating cultural elements into products and services to attract tourists.
Accordingly, the performances of actors or farm tour experiences during the journey help visitors understand more deeply about the characteristics of the ecology and indigenous culture.
Infrastructure investment
Despite its great potential, Ms. Quynh believes that the city still has some challenges, especially the issue of unsynchronized infrastructure and transportation. This makes it difficult to move and access ecological points as well as remote areas and riverside areas.
According to the Can Tho City tourism industry, in recent years, the city has strengthened tourism development cooperation and linkage activities with Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta and Southeast provinces; built, upgraded and developed a smart tourism system, ensuring adequate and vivid information about destinations, products and services. However, one of the difficulties of the industry is the problem of transport infrastructure and investment not meeting requirements.
Therefore, in order to strive to become a tourism center of the Mekong Delta by 2030, the city will prioritize investment in transport infrastructure, especially roads, wharves, stops, and transit points to tourist attractions in the area.
At the same time, the city also encourages investment; attracts large investors to soon implement key projects, strategically building large-scale complex tourism service areas, high-quality shopping and entertainment centers, culture and arts.
Airlines are encouraged to open more flights from Can Tho to domestic and international provinces and cities.
The city's tourism industry also focuses on innovation, creativity, and diversification of tourism products; creating conditions for people to participate and benefit from tourism.
