Admire the picturesque terraced fields near Ta Xua

    About 18km from the center of Tà Xùa, Xím Vàng terraced fields are an ideal spot to admire the green rice sea in August and welcome the golden season in September.

    Located in Bac Yen district, bordering the two provinces of Son La and Yen Bai, Xim Vang commune is home to more than 570 households of the Hmong ethnic group. Despite possessing some of the largest and most beautiful terraced fields in Bac Yen highlands, few people know about this place because tourism is not yet developed.

    Mr. Dat said: “I work in tourism in Ta Xua and want to promote tourism in this area. Besides coming here to hunt clouds, tourists can have other wonderful experiences with the natural scenery of Bac Yen.”

    Xim Vang is located at an altitude of nearly 1,500m above sea level, almost equivalent to Ta Xua. However, the weather here is less foggy, allowing for both rice viewing and cloud hunting.

    “In Xim Vang, the scenery is still very natural and wild, almost untouched by tourism. The scenery here is naturally beautiful, so just having sunlight and a camera is enough to capture stunning photos,” Mr. Dat shared. Photo: NVCC

The tour guide confirmed that the road to Xim Vang is quite easy to travel, convenient for tourists: “The terraced fields of Xim Vang are about 18km from the center of Ta Xua commune, and the newly constructed road is very easy to travel. Only about 1km down to the terraced fields is super steep and difficult to go. If you come here, pay attention to this section of the road.” Photo: NVCC
    According to Mr. Dat, there are only 1 or 2 homestays in Xim Vang and they do not provide any services. This is also one of the reasons why this place attracts few tourists despite its beautiful, wild, and majestic scenery, comparable to other places in Son La.

    Besides the terraced fields in Xim Vang, Mr. Dat said there are also beautiful terraced fields in Ta Xua C village and in Hang Dong commune, especially during the ripe rice season around September and October.
