Hung Yen people are proud of the bell pagoda, an ancient gem in the heart of the ancient Hanoi Palace. bell tower is not only a peaceful place of worship but also a spiritual symbol of the Buddhist culture of the North.

The bell Pagoda is officially called "Kim Chung Tu", meaning Golden bell pagoda, now in Nhan Duc village, Hien Nam ward, Hung Yen city. Some opinions say that the pagoda was built during the Later Le Dynasty, the period when Hanoi Street prospered as the Thang Long Bridge, and was a bustling trading place for the Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese...

According to the book "Dong Khanh Truoc Chi", Chuong Pagoda was built during the Later Le Dynasty (20th century) and underwent a major restoration in 1707. Some researchers such as Professor Phan Huy Le, Truong Huu Quynh, Tran Lam Bien... believe that the pagoda and stele are historically related, so the pagoda was discovered during the Le Dynasty.

However, some relics in the temple are currently not consistent with the judgment of the temple's development from the Le Dynasty. For example, some tile tiles on the roof of the temple are comedy tile tiles with patterns of the Tran dynasty, according to the National History Museum.

The name of the pagoda Clock originates from the legend that there was a golden bell flowing along the Red River, emitting a sacred sound when approaching this land. The villagers took it up, considering it a peaceful place, and built a pagoda to worship Buddha right there - also the origin of the name Kim Chung Tu.

bell Pagoda is one of the "4 Great Monuments of Hanoi", next to Tran Temple, Mau Temple and Thien Hau Temple.

The pagoda has a traditional architecture of the "foreign civil service" style (inside the Cong character, outside the Quoc character), a tight, solemn layout often found in large Buddhist works.

The entire pagoda is built with precious ironwood, covered with tiles, with rows of pillars, large military pillars, and elaborate carvings of dragons, phoenixes, lotus flowers, clouds, etc.

The pagoda includes a front hall, incense burning, a northern hall, a ancestral house and a corridor running along both sides. The main floor of the temple worships Buddha, Buddha A Di Da, Quan Am Bo Tat, along with a system of statues, stone steles, and a valuable ancient pillar.

The highlight of the pagoda is the ancient bell, cast in bronze, engraved with the pagoda's name - a testament to the people's belief in the spiritual spirit of heaven and earth gathered.

Not only a place to worship Buddha, the bell pagoda is a deep spiritual and human symbol of the people of Pho Hien. The pagoda used to be the largest center of religious and cultural activities in the region, a sacred gathering place for traders, clerics and the common people to pray for peace and happiness.

bell Pagoda was ranked by the Ministry of Culture, Information and Sports (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) as a national "Artificial Architecture" relic in 1992 and is a typical relic in the Pho Hien relic site, which was ranked by the Prime Minister as a special national relic in 2014.

Today, the bell Pagoda is the place where the Hien Street festival is held every year in the third lunar month, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world.

It is expected that the bell tower will welcome about 500,000 people and Buddhists along with about 200,000 vehicles to worship the Buddha's benefits on May 28-29.

After that, the Buddha's Compass will be led to Ngu Hanh Son Pagoda, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City to be honored from May 30 to June 2.
