Andrea Mae, a girl from the Philippines, shared her memorable experience when traveling to Vietnam during the rainy season. She had a trip full of fun and surprises, especially in the capital city of Hanoi.
Andrea began her journey in Hanoi after a 26-hour bus ride from Luang Prabang, Laos. She was impressed by the city's charm, from its cafes to its unique architecture.
“Hanoi is so cute with all the cafes and architecture. The history and culture here is also worth learning about!”, she said.
However, it was in Hanoi that Andrea had an unforgettable experience in the heavy rain.
"We were about to go out for dinner when it started to rain heavily and the streets were knee-deep in water," she said. "My friend and I were running in the rain and having a great time, until I slipped and one of my slippers got stuck on my foot. We tried to get it off but couldn't."
Luckily, two strangers came to Andrea's aid and successfully removed the slipper. She was overjoyed and cried out in joy at being "rescued".
The scene attracted the attention of locals, creating a fun and memorable moment. "It was funny when the locals looked at us and laughed, and we laughed too," Andrea recalled.
Despite some challenges due to the weather, Andrea still enjoyed her trip. "I don't have too much trouble traveling in the rainy season. I'm used to it because I used to live in Bergen, Norway - the rainiest city in Europe," she said.
Andrea also shared that she prefers to travel during the low season because it is less crowded. However, some of her plans had to change due to the floods in the North , such as the cancellation of her Ha Giang trip .
Despite some obstacles, Andrea still appreciated her experience in Vietnam. "The country is easy to navigate and travel with many travel companies offering tours and transportation everywhere," she commented.
Besides, she also encountered some difficulties with language barriers when communicating with local people.

Andrea’s trip to Vietnam, despite some challenges due to the weather, was filled with memorable memories and unique experiences. Her story is a testament to the fun and surprises that traveling to Vietnam can bring, even during the rainy season.
"I love Vietnam," Andrea shared enthusiastically. "The country has so many interesting activities from North to South. I especially enjoyed my time in the North and Central regions because of the natural beauty from Ha Giang, Ninh Binh, Phong Nha to the colorful city of Hoi An."
