In the early days of May, the unique Tam Hoa plum garden of Mr. Nguyen Van Phu's family (64 years old, residing in Xuan Thanh residential group, Xuan Truong ward - Da Lat) entered the harvest season, attracting many tourists to visit and experience picking plums at the garden.

Mr. Phu said that about 30 years ago, he was given two branches of Tam Hoa plums originating from Hanoi by a friend. After that, he grafted them with Da Lat peach trees to try planting in his home garden.
After a few years, the trees developed well, giving delicious fruit, so I continued to take care of them, graft branches and gradually propagate them. Up to now, the garden has about 100 large and small plum trees, giving stable annual harvests," Mr. Phu shared.

Currently, the care and harvesting of the plum garden is taken over by his children. In addition to selling fruit, the family also opens doors for tourists to visit, pick and enjoy plums at the garden themselves.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung - Mr. Phu's daughter, the plum garden has been associated with childhood and is the family's source of income for many years.

Now it's plum season, many tourists like to visit and experience picking plums right in the garden. This is quite special because in Da Lat, there are few long-standing Tam Hoa plum gardens like this," Ms. Phung said.
Recorded at the garden, many plum trees have large roots, a few meters wide canopy and are laden with fruit. These are the first trees planted and propagated by Mr. Phu from about 30 years ago.

According to the family, to help the plants grow well and limit pests and diseases, the garden is mainly cared for naturally, limiting the use of pesticides. Growers often prune branches to create ventilation, combined with hanging yellow fly traps to protect the fruit.

In addition to selling commercial plums at a price of about 100,000 VND/kg, Mr. Phu's family also grafts branches and propagates plants to sell to people in need at a price of about 150,000 VND/tree.

On an area of about 2ha, Mr. Phu's family also grows papaya, hydrangeas and propagates many other crops, creating a stable income for many years.
