The Vietnam Military History Museum and the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 became a "phenomenon" when attracting an unprecedented number of visitors to museums and exhibitions in Vietnam.
Red address on tourist map
Opened on November 1, the Vietnam Military History Museum immediately received a lot of attention from visitors. For the first time, a museum in Vietnam recorded a huge number of visitors, becoming the most searched topic on social networking sites right after its opening.
In less than a month, the museum has welcomed more than 300,000 visitors. On peak days, it welcomes about 30,000 - 40,000 visitors, especially on weekends, it can increase to 60,000 visitors/day.
These impressive numbers are not inferior to, or even surpass, famous museums in the world.
According to statistics, before the pandemic, the Louvre Museum (France) could welcome up to 40,000 - 45,000 visitors per day, a record of more than 10 million visitors/year. Currently, this famous place sets a visitor limit of 30,000 visitors/day to ensure the best experience for visitors.
Meanwhile, the Uffizi Gallery (Italy) welcomes about 4 million visitors per year, an average of more than 10,000 visitors per day. The Museum of Modern Art (USA) also records a modest number of visitors, welcoming an average of 2.8 million visitors per year, an average of 7,600 visitors per day.
The difference that creates the strong attraction of the Vietnam Military History Museum comes from the grand and meticulous investment, innovations in space as well as the way of displaying artifacts, vividly recreating history.
As a key cultural project, the museum has a large, airy area, unique and modern architecture. Inside the main building is divided into many areas according to each historical period, prominent milestones, visual and vividly arranged artifacts, and clear information notes.
The outdoor yard displays artifacts that are evidence of the military strength and indomitable fighting spirit of the nation, such as MiG-21 aircraft numbered 5121, T-54 tank numbered 843 (national treasure), or heavy artillery guns.
In addition, the application of modern technology such as descriptive videos/3D mapping of major, famous battles has made historical events no longer dry stories but become more vivid, closer, and more accessible to tourists.
One of the attractions of the museum is that it is open free of charge from November 1 to the end of December. This contributes significantly to creating conditions for a large number of tourists from all over the country, of all ages and occupations to visit.
In fact, the Vietnam Military History Museum is currently the largest and most modern museum compared to other museums in Hanoi today.
The huge number of visitors not only shows the strong spread of patriotism but also affirms the positive influence of traditional history education on young generations.
Defense Exhibition becomes an unprecedented "phenomenon"
Taking place in just a few days, the 2024 Vietnam International Defence Expo, an event with large-scale investment, attracts more attention from visitors than the first time it was held in 2022.
Following the trend of the Vietnam Military History Museum in November, in December, the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 also attracted the attention of many visitors.
The exhibition's appeal can be seen in the numbers.
The exhibition took place from December 19 to 22 at Gia Lam Airport, Hanoi. As of 12:00 on December 22, the exhibition had welcomed more than 260,000 visitors from the public and industry professionals.
The success of the exhibition was assessed to have far exceeded initial expectations. The exhibition even extended its visit time by one day, December 23, compared to the original plan, to meet the needs of the people and visitors.
The exhibition area has a total area of over 100,000 m2, with 15,000 m2 of indoor display and over 20,000 m2 of outdoor display. 242 defense industry enterprises and related domestic and international enterprises participate in the exhibition.
More than 440 indoor and outdoor exhibition booths, including a variety of products, such as: Fighter aircraft, transport aircraft; helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, drones, ships, artillery systems, radars, guns, bullets, electronic warfare equipment, simulations, communications, optoelectronics...
In addition to directly using and experiencing the latest weapons and equipment, visitors to the exhibition can also visually review the heroic history of the nation thanks to 3D mapping models, virtual reality glasses and try the feeling of transforming into a gunner thanks to realistic shooting simulation technology...
Statistics have proven that museums and exhibitions in Vietnam still have a strong appeal, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate. With the right investment and development, these museums and exhibitions have the potential to compete and be as attractive as any destination in the international arena.
