Green color on the hillsides
Binh Thuan commune, Son La province is located at the foot of the legendary Pha Din pass, favored by nature with a cool climate, majestic mountain scenery and green agricultural production areas.
At the time of harvest, tea hills in Thai Binh, Binh Minh, Binh Moc, and Binh Nguyen villages are covered with young green color on the hillsides. Tea beds follow each other, interspersed between villages and flower roads, creating a peaceful space, attracting tourists to visit, take photos and experience.
Mr. Hoang Duc, a photographer in Thuan Chau, said he was impressed with the natural scenery and green tea hills in Binh Thuan.
According to him, the combination of tea hills, villages and people's lives creates unique perspectives, suitable for developing experiential tourism and photography.
The scenery here is still quite natural, each season has its own beauty. If exploited reasonably, Binh Thuan will be an attractive destination for nature lovers and explorers," Mr. Hoang Duc shared.
With more than 800ha of tea, a production of about 8,000 tons of fresh buds per year, Binh Thuan is linking production with experiential tourism. The locality also has nearly 1,000ha of coffee and 400ha of fruit trees, developing in a clean and safe direction.
According to Mr. Pham Quang Huy, Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Thuan commune, the locality focuses on exploiting landscape, agriculture and culture to form unique tourism products, creating livelihoods, and increasing income for people.
Pha Din floating market attracts customers
If tea hills create a characteristic green color, Pha Din market fair brings a cultural space rich in identity. The market fair is held every Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM.
Right from the first sessions, the market has attracted people and tourists. Coming here, tourists can experience grinding corn with stone mortars, making men men, pounding banh day, grilling fish; enjoy traditional dishes such as black chicken, thang co and learn about brocade products and handicrafts of the highland people.
The market space is unique, imbued with cultural identity. I like the most being able to directly experience traditional activities and enjoy the cuisine of the people," shared Mr. Ngo Huy Thanh, a tourist from To Hieu ward.
Pha Din fair is not only a place for trade but is also expected to become a unique tourism product, contributing to promoting local culture and products. Folk arts activities and exchanges with local people also create more experiences for tourists.
According to Ms. Ca Thi Ngoc, Acting Chairwoman of Binh Thuan Commune People's Committee, the fair will be maintained regularly, aiming to connect with other attractions and experiences in the area, contributing to the formation of a chain of unique tourism products at the foot of Pha Din Pass.
More destinations, retain tourists
Along with tea hills and market fairs, Pha Din Top Tourist Area is becoming a familiar stop for many tourists on their journey to explore the Northwest.
With a scale of nearly 30ha, Pha Din Top has ecological forests, flower gardens, accommodation areas, restaurants and many check-in points. The tourist area currently has 21 rooms, restaurants serving about 150 guests, and a display area for agricultural products, herbs and souvenirs.
Mr. Bui Ngoc Thang, Director of Pha Din Tourism Cooperative, said that the unit is renovating the landscape, upgrading accommodation, adding camping services, renting costumes and linking local art troupes to diversify experiences for tourists.
Besides Pha Din Top, some establishments in the area are also exploiting agricultural advantages to develop tourism. In Thai Binh village, an eco-tourism area of about 1,500m2 with stilt houses, fruit orchards and fish ponds has been invested in more tea picking and tea processing experience activities.
From lush green tea hills, highland colorful market fairs to accommodation points in the mountains and forests, Binh Thuan is gradually forming a chain of diverse tourism products that attract tourists.
At the foot of Pha Din Pass, agriculture, culture and tourism are harmonizing, opening up new development directions, contributing to creating livelihoods, increasing income for people and making Binh Thuan a worthwhile destination to explore on the Northwest journey.
