On January 7, according to Lao Dong Newspaper's source, Son La Provincial People's Committee has just reported on the results of inspection of registration centers operating in the province.
The report clearly states that there are 2 vehicle registration centers operating for many years but have not been licensed for connection.
Son La Motor Vehicle Registration Center (code 2601D), managed by Son La Transport Vehicle Inspection Joint Stock Company, located in Chieng Sinh ward and granted a Certificate of Motor Vehicle Inspection Activity in 2015 by the Vietnam Register.
From the beginning of 2023 to now, this center has inspected more than 62,000 vehicles, collected road use fees and fees of hundreds of billions of VND for the state budget.
However, at the time of commissioning, the connection location from the center to National Highway 6 at Km290+685 (P) has not yet been approved and licensed for construction by the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam (now the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam) and Road Management Zone I. This has lasted until July 2025 and has not been completed.

Similarly, Motor Vehicle Registration Branch 2603D in Van Ho commune, also belonging to Son La Transport Vehicle Inspection Joint Stock Company, was invested and built in 2016 and has currently inspected nearly 36,000 vehicles.
Meanwhile, the connecting intersection at Km177+100 National Highway 6 is not on the list of connecting points approved until 2030. At the same time, it has not been licensed for construction by competent authorities when the center goes into operation.

Son La Provincial People's Committee assessed that the fact that vehicle registration centers operate without completing legal procedures for traffic connection, planning, and land is a real problem that needs to be overcome.
The reason pointed out is that specialized legal regulations are constantly changing, the coordination between relevant agencies is not synchronized, while some businesses have not proactively researched and completed dossiers according to regulations.
Faced with the above situation, Son La Provincial People's Committee said that it will continue to direct departments, branches and local authorities to conduct actual inspections, comprehensively review the compliance with the law of registration units, and request to overcome shortcomings to operate in accordance with regulations.
In Son La province, there are currently 4 vehicle registration centers including: Son La Motor Vehicle Registration Center 2601D, Motor Vehicle Registration Branch 2603D (both belonging to Son La Transport Vehicle Inspection Joint Stock Company), Motor Vehicle Registration Center 2602D (belonging to Son La Waterway and Road Motor Vehicle Registration Joint Stock Company), Motor Vehicle Registration Center 26004 (belonging to Son La Motor Vehicle Registration Company).
It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
