Located by the majestic Da River, the lake of Tan Phong commune appears as a landscape painting with clear blue water, overlapping mountains and peaceful villages nestled on hillsides.

Cruising the lake by boat, visitors can admire the forests reflected in the water, fish cages floating in the vast rivers and the peaceful rhythm of life of the lake people.
When evening falls, the sun disappears behind the mountains, the sunset light covers the water surface, creating a poetic scene, captivating anyone who visits.
The image of the wharf, the boat at Van Yen wharf (commonly known as Van wharf) has entered the simple song: "Whoever goes down and whoever goes up the Da River... remembering Van wharf, please don't forget each other...", as an invitation to tourists to return to the peaceful riverine region.


It has become a custom that on the 6th, 16th and 26th of the solar calendar every month, people from 13 villages gather at Van wharf to hold markets. Boats carrying goods from provinces dock, carrying all kinds of goods to serve people in the lake area.
On the market, local agricultural products such as rice, shrimp, river fish, wild honey, rock snails, dried bamboo shoots, medicinal plants... and brocade products are displayed for sale, creating a trade space imbued with the identity of the river region.
Ben Van market is not only a place for buying and selling but also a unique cultural space of the Muong, Mong, Dao ethnic groups. People come to the market to meet and interact after working days, and tourists have the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine, learn about customs and experience the traditional lifestyle of the lake area residents.


In addition, cage fish farming is developing stably with over 80 fish cages, producing more than 150 tons per year. Fish rafts on the lake surface not only bring income to people but also create more experiential tourism products associated with riverine life.
Coming to Tan Phong for the first time, Ms. Le Tuyet Mai, a tourist from Hung Yen, shared: "The lake scenery is very beautiful and peaceful. Boating, visiting the market fair and exploring local culture are experiences that I will always remember.
Mr. Phan Phuc Thinh, Vice Chairman of Tan Phong Commune People's Committee, said that the locality is exploiting the advantages of natural landscapes associated with cultural identity preservation to study community tourism development.
We aim to build products such as lake tours, market fair experiences, indigenous ethnic culture and cage fish farming, thereby promoting the image of the Da River region and increasing income for people," Mr. Thinh said.


Tan Phong possesses the pristine beauty of the mountains and waters along with unique culture and the simple rhythm of life of the lake area residents. This place is gradually becoming an attractive destination, bringing different experiences in the great Northwest forest.
