These days, Dien Bien is entering the most beautiful season of the "winter-flowing" flower species. Starting from the beginning of November, wild sunflowers have now bloomed, creating a yellow color that makes anyone passing by have to stop and check-in.
One of the prominent destinations is the Nam Khau Hu reservoir area (Thanh Nua commune), about 13 km from the center of Dien Bien Phu ward.

Ms. Hai Yen (Muong Thanh ward) said: "To get the best photos and lighting, I started moving around at 2pm. Because wild sunflowers often grow in high mountainous areas and the wind is quite cold, it is necessary to pay attention to wearing a warm jacket to ensure health.
Wild sunflowers are also known by many other names such as chrysanthemum, mountain sunflower, wild sunflower... This is an easy-to-grow plant, growing into large bushes up to 2-3 m high. When blooming, the flower has many bright yellow petals, tense p pisters, and the flower diameter can reach 10-15 cm.

According to the experience of photographers, the golden time to see flowers and take photos during the day is from 8-10am and 3-5pm. At this time, the sunlight is moderate, passing through the flowers creating the most sparkling, magical color.
Not only in Nam Khau Hu, the yellow color of wild sunflowers is also present throughout the streets of Dien Bien.

Along National Highway 279, from Dien Bien Phu Ward to Muong Ang Commune, visitors will admire the bright yellow blooming wild sunflowers running along both sides of the road.
In addition, visitors can go to other places that also own beautiful flower hills such as: Muong Phang commune, Sam Mon commune or Keo Lom pass area (Na Son commune).

On December 13-14, Dien Bien province will organize the Mountain climbing Tournament to conquer Pu To Co peak and the Dien Bien Province Youth and Sports Tournament in 2025 in Muong Phang commune.
The focus of the event was at the relic site of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command and Pu To Co peak. This is also one of the places to see beautiful wild sunflowers in Dien Bien.
