Paem Buol Thmay Pagoda on Ly Thuong Kiet Street, near Sung Dinh intersection, Ward 4, Soc Trang City (Soc Trang Province).
According to monk Dinh Hoang Su - Abbot of Paem Buol Thmay Pagoda, the pagoda was built in 1964 for people in Sung Dinh area to have a place to worship.
The temple was built and decorated in Khmer style combined with modern architecture but still retains traditional features, creating a highlight for the temple.
In particular, the Buddhist temple combines many forms of sunken and embossed carvings on the wall, cement molding, and direct plastering. The temple uses two main colors: yellow and white, with banana green accents. Therefore, the building exudes both modernity and ancient majesty.
At Peam Buol Thmay Pagoda, there is also a display space preserving daily life items of the people in the ancient Sung Dinh village. The artifacts are mainly made of ceramics, porcelain and farming tools.
All these items were contributed by Buddhists in and outside the province. The pagoda preserves ethnic artifacts to provide a basis for students with a passion for research and to diversify tourism products to serve visitors to the pagoda.
In particular, right in the temple grounds, there is a vividly and uniquely sculpted Ngo boat on display. This is also the first Ngo boat in the region to be sculpted directly onto the original boat.
