In the last days of August, patches of mua flowers blooming purple at the foot of Ngu Chi Son mountain, Ngu Chi Son commune, Lao Cai province create a scene that is both pristine and poetic.
From the trail leading to the foot of Ngu Chi Son mountain, patches of mua flowers stretch across the hillside, weaving between walkways and rock crevices. Thin purple petals stand out on a background of green leaves and golden pistils, creating a vibrant natural picture.
Many tourists come here these days to take photos, immerse themselves in the mountainous space and feel the simple beauty of the Northwest highlands.
Ngu Chi Son is known as one of the majestic mountains of the Northwest, with a height of 2,858m. Five sharp mountain peaks reaching into the sky, like five giant fingers in the great forest.
Arduous terrain, steep cliffs, floating sea of clouds and rich flora create a unique attraction for this mountain region.
According to local people, mua flowers usually bloom from about June to September every year. When the patches of flowers simultaneously show off their colors, the entire hillside is covered with a purple carpet amidst the green of the mountains and forests.
From a natural flower growing on the mountainside, the purple color of mua flowers is adding a highlight to the Ngu Chi Son tourism picture.

In recent days, many tourists have come to Ngu Chi Son commune to take photos of flowers to buy. Ngu Chi Son still has many beautiful scenes and we hope that more and more people will know the beauty of their homeland," said Mr. Lo.
The attraction of Ngu Chi Son these days does not only come from the purple color of mua flowers. On the journey to the village, visitors can also encounter terraced fields that are in the ripe rice season.
The golden color of the fields blends with the green of the mountains and forests and the purple color of mua flowers, creating distinctive color patches of the Lao Cai highlands.
There is also the peaceful rhythm of life of the H'Mong and Red Dao people. Herds of buffalo leisurely graze on the mountainside, houses faintly visible among forest trees and winding small roads create a rustic and pristine beauty.
Mr. Tran Manh Hung - Chairman of Ngu Chi Son Commune People's Committee said that Ngu Chi Son mountain is a provincial-level scenic spot that has been recognized. The locality has many advantages in majestic natural landscapes and unique cultural identity of ethnic communities.
In the coming time, the commune will promote the exploitation of the local potential and advantages to develop exploration, experience, community and ecotourism types," Mr. Hung said.
