After two years of being in love and about to get married, Ngo Phuong Thao (born in 1998, Hanoi) couldn't help but feel emotional when sharing about her love memories with her husband - Nguyen Tien Sy (born in 1998, Yen Bai).
Phuong Thao and her fiance took their wedding photos along the Lao Than mountain climbing route (Lao Cai) to return to where their love began. The couple climbed the mountain on the weekend and stayed overnight at a local hut.
The "sea of clouds" did not disappoint, the couple had a stunning wedding photo album. In the impressive scene at an altitude of 2,600m, the couple exchanged happy eyes and bright smiles.
The couple's wedding photos and special love story have attracted the attention of the trekking and mountain climbing community.
Phuong Thao was one of the tourists that Dr. Sy guided to trek Lao Than mountain in 2022. She was not very impressed with the tour guide. In fact, Dr. Sy was the opposite of her boyfriend's taste.
She confided: "My boyfriend's type is tall, fair-skinned and doesn't have a lisp, but my husband doesn't have any of those qualities. The first time we trekked together, my husband and I didn't talk much, we just became friends on social media. After returning home, we also talked back and forth.
The peak of our friendship was probably when I had a broken heart and Sy encouraged and comforted me. One story led to another, and gradually, we found that we had similar personalities and fell in love without realizing it."
Among the customers who went on the tour that day, after finishing the trip, Sy confessed that he only talked to Thao. At first, the two just considered each other as friends. Accompanying each other, healing emotional wounds, the two decided to move towards love and marriage.
The biggest difficulty the couple encountered in their love journey was probably the opposition from their families. Thao's parents did not want their daughter to marry far away. Although she and her husband both worked in Hanoi, the distance between their hometowns was up to 200km. Time proved the power of love, Thao and Sy received their parents' blessing.
Due to the nature of his job as a guide, Sy often works on weekends. Therefore, Sy often invites his lover to go trekking and work with him. The two have held hands and reached 6 peaks of the North: Lao Than (Lao Cai), Lung Cung (Yen Bai), Ky Quan San (Lao Cai), Nhiu Co San (Lao Cai), Ta Xua (Son La), Ta Chi Nhu (Yen Bai).
Among the peaks she has conquered, the female tourist from Hanoi likes Ky Quan San (or Bach Moc Luong Tu) - the 4th highest mountain in Vietnam. The terrain along the way is very diverse, with a high level of difficulty. The route to conquer Ky Quan San at 3,046m high has sections through forests, across streams, climbing steep cliffs or walking in the middle of vast green grasslands.
For the new bride, Lao Than peak still holds the most memories. "Many times following my husband to work, I have hunted countless "seas of clouds" and sunrises here. More than that, it is where I met the true love of my life," Thao expressed.
In the near future, the couple plans to conquer Ngu Chi Son peak (Lao Cai). The wedding is expected to take place in December, with an invitation card inspired by the mountains and forests - where the love of the bride and groom began.
