Ninh Cong Hoang, 24 years old, was surprised by the pure and fresh beauty of Kuang Si waterfall during his trip to Laos. On the second day in the land of a million elephants, a young man from Hai Duong rode a motorbike to the famous waterfall in Luang Prabang city.
The most famous waterfall in the ancient capital of Laos has jade green and clear water because the water carries a large amount of algae, stratified by steps made of natural rocks. This is a three-tiered waterfall, about 29km south of the ancient capital of Luang Prabang.
The main waterfall of the Kuang Si complex has a height of up to 60m with a huge stream of water pouring down from above, scattering mist, creating a majestic white scene. That impressive beauty is also surrounded by a wild and green jungle.
A Vietnamese male tourist shared: "Kuang Si Waterfall consists of many levels that look quite similar to terraced fields. The natural waterfall levels stack on top of each other and create beautiful lakes. I tried dipping my feet in and saw the cool water flow. cold.
In the summer, the weather in Laos often maintains a temperature of about 30 degrees Celsius, quite hot. Therefore, many tourists to Laos will choose the waterfall as a "sea" bathing location. I watched everyone enjoy the cool water of Kuang Si."
Cong Hoang also suggests that tourists planning to visit Kuang Si waterfall should prepare swimsuits to bathe in the stream. These spring bathing areas have signs but there are no lifeguards or changing areas, so visitors should prepare the necessary equipment to ensure their own safety.
The Laotian name of this famous waterfall is Tat Kuang Si, made up of three words: "Tat" is waterfall, "Kuang" is deer and "Si" means digging into the ground.
Because, the waterfall is associated with an ancient legend that there was a wise old man who dug deep into the ground every day to collect water from the Nam Xi river. After the water poured in, the grass became green, and a golden deer came to make a home under the rock protruding from the waterfall.
Kuang Si Waterfall is most beautiful during the rainy season, starting in May and ending in November. During this time, the amount of water pouring down from the upstream is very large. The surrounding natural landscape is watered throughout the summer and becomes green. The cost to visit the tourist area is 60,000 kip/ticket (about 65,000 VND).
However, Cong Hoang also warned: "The upper floors are built with railings so visitors can admire the strong waterfall, while below, visitors can bathe and touch the water.
The path next to the waterfall to climb to the highest level of the waterfall is a dirt road, quite slippery because it is soaked in water. Therefore, visitors should be careful when approaching the water because they may slip. I fell when I intended to dip my feet into the cool water. The number of tourists visiting Kuang Si waterfall is quite large, so when I fell, I felt a bit embarrassed (laughs)."
