Quang Tri - At the end of the harvest season, people and tourists go down to Tram Tra Loc to use nets, traps, traps, and fish traps to catch fish in the traditional festival.

On August 29, at Tram Tra Loc eco-tourism area, Hai Xuan village, Vinh Dinh commune, Quang Tri province, the traditional "Pha Tram" Festival 2026 took place.

This is a unique folk culture that local people have preserved through many generations.

The festival starts from 5:30 am with traditional rituals of Tra Loc village. After the opening and issuing of the "Pha Tram" order, from 6:30 am to 11:30 am, people and tourists can directly go down to Tram to participate in fishing with traditional handicrafts.

The special feature of the festival is that throughout the year, people limit arbitrary fishing at Tra Loc Tram to allow fish and shrimp to reproduce, while protecting water sources and ecosystems. After the summer-autumn rice crop ends, farming work is reduced, people organize water opening, and go down to Tram to catch fish together.

Familiar tools such as nets, traps, traps, and fishing rods are used instead of modern fishing methods. Electric shock, explosives, chemicals, sharp tools and methods that pose a risk of destroying aquatic resources are strictly prohibited.

From an activity associated with agricultural production, "Pha Tram" gradually becomes a community festival. Old people, youth, children and tourists go down to the water, find fish, catch shrimp and share achievements right in the natural ecological space.

Ms. To Thi Hai Yen - Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Dinh Commune People's Committee, "Pha Tram" Festival has been preserved and passed down by the people of Tra Loc village for more than 300 years. The most precious thing about the festival is not whether each person catches a lot or a little fish, but the joy of reunion, the spirit of solidarity and the bond between the community and nature.

Through the Pha Tram custom, our ancestors left a lesson that exploitation must go hand in hand with protection; enjoying products from nature must be associated with the responsibility of nurturing, regenerating and preserving resources for future generations" - Ms. Yen emphasized.

For local people, fish and shrimp caught on Pha Tram day are also considered "gifts" of nature, sending wishes for favorable weather, good harvests and a prosperous life.

Tra Loc lagoon is a natural lake surrounded by a rich flora, which plays a role in preserving water sources, regulating the environment, and creating a unique landscape of Tra Loc land.

Vinh Dinh Commune People's Committee expects that the maintenance of the "Pha Tram" Festival along with the preservation of conical hat making, historical and cultural relics and Tra Loc Tram landscape will gradually form a unique cultural and ecological tourism product, attracting tourists to the locality.
