On December 9, the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau announced that, authorized by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the organizing unit awarded the decision to recognize Malibu Vung Tau Hotel as meeting 5-star standards.
Previously, this hotel achieved 4-star standard since 2016 and has maintained this standard until now. Through the process of restructuring and improving service quality towards luxury and class, this accommodation facility has just completed upgrading in September 2024, and is recognized as reaching 5-star standard.
Previously, this facility has received many prestigious awards in the tourism industry such as: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism honored the top 15 leading 4-star hotels in Vietnam in 2018; Top 10 excellent brands in Asia in 2022 voted by the Vietnam Association of Science and Enterprise Development; in 2023 and 2024, it was honored as "National green environment-friendly hotel"...
According to the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, having more 5-star accommodation facilities in Vung Tau contributes to promoting high-quality tourism; increasing the proportion of international visitors and increasing the contribution of the tourism industry to the local GRDP. At the same time, it helps Ba Ria - Vung Tau accelerate to become a national marine economic center, developing tourism into one of the 4 pillar economic sectors.
Up to now, Vung Tau city has a total of 5 5-star quality accommodation facilities including: Malibu Vung Tau, VIAS Vung Tau, Pullman, Marina Bay and Imperial. All accommodation facilities in the whole Ba Ria - Vung Tau province are ranked according to the following standards: 12 5-star facilities, 17 4-star facilities, 22 3-star facilities, 11 2-star facilities, 11 1-star facilities.
The tourism industry also strives to encourage local tourism establishments to continue investing in improving quality and attracting major brands to invest. It is expected that by 2030, the province will have about 30 establishments meeting 5-star standards.
