Sea of people in Ho Chi Minh City welcome Quan Thanh De Quan on tour

    With more than 800 participants, the Nghinh Ong Quan Thanh De Quan Festival contributes to preserving culture and tightening the solidarity of the Vietnamese-Chinese community in Ho Chi Minh City.

    Ngay từ 7h sáng, khuôn viên Hội quán Nghĩa An (đường Nguyễn Trãi) đã chật kín người dân và du khách. Đây là điểm khởi hành của đoàn diễu hành trong lộ trình đi qua các trục đường chính của khu Chợ Lớn để người dân chiêm bái.
    On March 1st, thousands of people and tourists gathered in the Cho Lon area (HCMC) to admire the Nghinh Ong Quan Thanh De Quan tour. This is a unique cultural activity to preserve heritage and strengthen community solidarity.
    Đây được xem là một trong những nghi lễ truyền thống tiêu biểu nhất của cộng đồng người Hoa nhóm ngôn ngữ Triều Châu tại TP.HCM mỗi dịp rằm tháng Giêng.
    This is considered one of the most typical traditional rituals of the Chaozhou Chinese community in Ho Chi Minh City every full moon of the first lunar month. The focus of the procession is the statue of Quan Thanh De Quan, a hundred-year-old statue. The statue nearly 1m high is solemnly placed on a lacquered and gold-plated palanquin, preparing for a tour around the neighborhoods to bestow blessings and peace.

    This year's festival gathers more than 800 participants with elaborate preparations of costumes and props. Mythical characters are carefully dressed, bringing a captivating art performance space.

    Adults and children took to the streets to see the parade passing by with their own eyes. Many people in the Cho Lon area joyfully welcomed the Ong palanquin procession, creating a bustling atmosphere before the Lunar New Year.
