At the opening ceremony, the leaders of Cat Hai District People's Committee introduced Cat Ba archipelago with many unique values of biodiversity, geology, geology, landscape and pristine and attractive beauty, which has been recognized by many noble titles by international organizations and the Government. In particular, in 2023, Cat Ba archipelago and Ha Long Bay were recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage.
The opening program of Cat Ba tourism in 2025 aims to introduce and promote the outstanding and unique potential and strengths of Cat Ba archipelago - a World Natural Heritage, to the public, domestic and international tourists, contributing to stimulating and developing Cat Ba tourism to a new height.
Right after the opening program, Cat Hai district organized the Ba Amatina Cat Marathon 2025 - Heritage Road. With a unique cross-country race, the race attracted the participation of more than 1,500 professional and amateur athletes from all over the world who gathered here to walk on the heritage site. Athletes participated in 3 distances: 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, athletes experienced crossing poetic coastal routes, through lush green primeval forests and reaching the most eye-catching spots of Cat Ba green island.
Through this event, the Organizing Committee hopes to spread the message of protecting and promoting the value of the Cat Ba archipelago World Natural Heritage, promoting the unique tourism potential of the locality to domestic and international friends. At the same time, it is hoped that each athlete participating in the race will become an ambassador, contributing to introducing the beauty of Cat Ba to the sports and tourism community around the world.
