On January 2, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province said that the Gia Lai tourism industry aims to welcome 1.7 million visitors in 2025 with revenue of VND950 billion.
In 2024, Gia Lai will welcome 1.34 million visitors (an increase of 11.7% compared to 2023). Currently, Gia Lai in particular and the Central Highlands provinces in general are one of the new and attractive tourist destinations on the Vietnam tourism map.
In Kon Tum province, in 2024, it will welcome about 2.3 million visitors, including about 8,000 international visitors. Places such as Mang Den, Sa Thay, Tu Mo Rong, and Kon Tum City attract many visitors.
Kon Tum province's tourism industry aims to reach 2.5 million visitors by 2025. Kon Tum province has risen to second place in the Central Highlands region in terms of the number of tourists visiting the province (currently only behind Lam Dong province). This is a breakthrough in the tourism sector, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.
In particular, Mang Den Eco-tourism Area has been approved by the Prime Minister for a master plan with a vision to 2045, which is the foundation for building and developing Mang Den Tourist Area to become one of the key tourism development centers of the country.
Gia Lai tourism focuses on investing in two main clusters in the East and West of the province. The first cluster is associated with the development of eco-tourism in the Kon Ha Nung Plateau World Biosphere Reserve, while linking forests and seas with Binh Dinh province.
The second cluster focuses on planning the Bien Ho - Chu Dang Ya volcano tourist area, connecting with the Se San river system, Ialy hydropower plant, and at the same time linking tourism with Kon Tum province.
