On the afternoon of August 31, information from Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station showed that this morning, about 2,000 people and tourists left the country through Lao Cai International Border Gate.
Of these, about 1,000 people are tourists, mostly traveling on tours or groups of travel companies, with not many individual guests.
"It is estimated that there will be a large number of tourists on the first day of the holiday, so the authorities have increased the number of personnel to ensure safety, security, order and support people entering and exiting the country. Although the demand for exiting the country is high and the weather is quite hot, there is no jostling, pushing or unsafety" - Major Bui Giang Nam, Deputy Station Chief of Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station, said.
This afternoon (August 31), Lao Cai International Border Gate is clear, with only individual visitors or people visiting relatives.
Lao Cai International Border Guard Station said that from the second day off, the number of tourists and residents passing through the border gate will gradually decrease, averaging 200 - 300 people/day. The entry and exit of residents and tourists will take place more quickly and smoothly.
On the first day of the 2023 National Day holiday, more than 3,000 people completed exit procedures through Lao Cai International Border Gate to visit and travel in Hekou town , Yunnan province (China).
Lao Cai - Hekou international border gate is one of three international border gates with an important position in economic and trade exchanges across the land border between Vietnam and China.
