On February 11, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Chau district held a conference on social criticism of the draft plan to organize the Hai Chau - Da Nang International Lion - Lion - Dragon Performance Competition in 2025.
The competition is scheduled to be held in August this year at Bach Dang walking street. The teams will compete in the Dia Buu lion dance and Mai Hoa Thung lion dance.
Here, cultural experts, experts, and people gave their opinions focusing on the content such as the contest duration, theme, and organization plan. In which, the delegates highly agreed, supporting the organization of the contest and expanding it internationally with the aim of raising the level of the event, creating a highlight in the cultural and tourism activities of Hai Chau district in particular, and Da Nang city in general.
Regarding the name, the activity will be called the Hai Chau - Da Nang International Lion - Lion - Dragon Performance Competition 2025. The theme of this year's competition is expected to be "Aspiration to rise". With the expansion of the scale of the activity, the competition will increase the number of participating teams, including international lion dance teams.
Delegates also noted that the organizing committee needs to prepare carefully to welcome international delegations, arrange volunteers to support, and organize an evaluation to draw lessons after the competition ends to have a basis for organizing better next time.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Truong Thanh Dung - Vice Chairman of Hai Chau District People's Committee - said that this year's competition will have the participation of 5 international lion dance teams from China, Malaysia, Myanmar, Hong Kong (China) and Indonesia.
“The competition is expected to create great attraction for locals and tourists, especially when the event is held on Bach Dang walking street. When the event is raised to an international level, the budget for the event will also be increased. There will be many issues that need to be carefully considered in organizing it.
We will receive and record all the comments of the delegates to complete the plan as soon as possible, ensuring that the competition is a highlight in the cultural and tourism activities of Hai Chau district in particular and Da Nang city in general" - Mr. Truong Thanh Dung said.
