The Tam Coc - Trang An Gold Festival is the opening event for Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2026. The highlight of this year's festival is the procession of products and medicinal plants from 34 provinces and cities with the theme "Gratitude to the God of Agriculture".
According to legend, Than Nong is a legendary king honored as the ancestor of agriculture, the pioneer of wet rice cultivation, invented plowing tools and taught farming techniques to people in the plains. The belief in worshiping Than Nong has long become a unique cultural feature of agricultural residents, expressing gratitude to the founder of agriculture, and at the same time sending wishes for favorable weather, bumper crops, and a prosperous life.

The boat fleet departed from Tam Coc wharf, passed through golden rice fields, and entered Ba Cave to reach the area of the Than Nong altar. Along the journey, visitors not only admire the poetic scenery of Tam Coc during the ripe rice season but also directly experience the joyful and exciting working atmosphere of farmers in the Northern Delta region.

At the festival, many experiential activities such as harvesting rice on golden fields, exploring spaces to recreate old farming methods or admiring images of farmers playing flutes have contributed to creating a space imbued with the cultural identity of the Northern Delta region.
Not only the Tam Coc - Trang An Gold Festival, within the framework of Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2026, there are also many notable activities such as Trang An Creative Music Festival; Yosakoi Festival; Ninh Binh Sea Tourism Festival 2026; "Tam Coc Gold Season" photo tour and many cultural and traditional art experience programs.
