On the afternoon of May 4, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that during the 5-day 30.4-1.5 holiday, the locality organized many cultural, sports and festival events to attract a large number of people and tourists.
In particular, events such as music festivals, beer festivals, hot air balloons... along with sports activities such as the artistic kite festival, the province's dragon and lion tournament... attracted more than 200,000 people and tourists to participate.
This year, the holiday is long, along with hot weather attracting many tourists to come to Ba Ria - Vung Tau sea tourism to enjoy the coolness. Thereby, the number of visitors and accommodation revenue all increased compared to the same period last year.
During the 5 days of holidays, the whole province is estimated to welcome about 858,000 tourists coming to have fun and relax; an increase of 36.96% over the same period. Total tourism revenue in 5 days is estimated at more than 661.7 billion VND, in the 3 peak days (13.5) all reached the revenue mark of about 170 billion VND/day.
Welcoming a large number of visitors, however, security and order in the area are guaranteed. Localities do not increase or force prices; ensure tourism image and safety for tourists. The whole province recorded a case of a customer having a stroke while swimming in the sea, this person was promptly supported and taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Of which, the locality that welcomed the most tourists in the whole province was still Vung Tau City with about 366,000 visitors during the 5 holidays; an increase of more than 72,000 visitors compared to the same period last year.
According to Mr. Pham Khac To - Director of the Center for Tourist Management and Support of Vung Tau City, the number of tourists coming to Vung Tau this year has increased due to long holidays and hot weather. At the same time, Vung Tau is a venue for many cultural events, festivals, and sports; along with the coastal park area, it has gradually been completed, meeting the entertainment and experience needs of tourists.
