Exploring the market fair, cuisine and culture of the highlands
The Autumn Festival "Autumn Flavors" 2026 is held in many spaces in Bac Ha commune such as Bac Ha Cultural Market, Hoang A Tuong Mansion, the commune's central stadium and Ban Pho 1, Ban Pho 2, Na Hoi, Phec Bung and Nam Tho villages.
The highlight of the Festival is the opening ceremony associated with the 10 km running race "Mean the golden color of ripe rice season", taking place from 7:30 am on August 29th at Hoang A Tuong Mansion Square.
On the running route, tourists and athletes have the opportunity to feel the beauty of the Bac Ha plateau in the last days of August, when the fields begin to turn yellow.
In the afternoon of the same day, the central stadium of Bac Ha commune will become the focus with the final of the weekly horse race in August. The speed competitions of the highland riders are expected to continue to create a vibrant and attractive atmosphere for tourists.
Not only sports activities, the Festival also opens up a space to experience the unique culture of ethnic groups living on the Bac Ha plateau.
On the morning of August 29 and September 5, visitors can explore Bac Ha buffalo market; the morning of August 30 is an ideal time to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Bac Ha Market - where the colors of traditional costumes, local products and the daily life of the highland people converge.
Here, visitors can enjoy many specialties such as thang co, sour pho, corn cake, Ban Pho corn wine; and learn about and buy handicraft brocade products made by local people.
On the evening of August 29, the art program celebrating the Festival took place at the Bac Ha Cultural Market stage with performances imbued with the cultural identity of the highlands such as Mong khen dance, xoe, sinh tien dance and folk songs.
From the evening of August 30th to September 1st, Hoang A Tuong Mansion continues to become a cultural space with traditional dance performances, folk instruments such as khen, flute and folk songs.
Another notable activity is the program "Launching Bac Ha Rice Tray" on the morning of August 31. This is an opportunity to introduce typical dishes, thereby telling stories about the culinary culture of ethnic minorities here.
Experience making young rice flakes in the middle of autumn in Bac Ha
From September 1-2, the experience and introduction of cốm products with the theme "Autumn Flavors on the White Plateau of Bac Ha" took place at Hoang A Tuong Mansion.
Tourists not only enjoy cốm nuts with the characteristic flavor of autumn but can also directly participate in traditional cốm making steps, learn how people process and create products from rice grains.
This activity is expected to create a new experiential product, linking tourism with agriculture and the production life of local people.
On August 30, the walking program "Joining Vietnam to Advance" 2026 was also held in Bac Ha, contributing to spreading the spirit of health training, environmental protection and building a civilized lifestyle.
During the festival days, visitors can proactively explore more destinations such as Bac Ha Temple, Ngai Thau hill, Na Hoi grass hill, Ban Pho, Phec Bung, Nam Tho villages; experience Ban Zai waterfall, Co De Chai Cooperative, Vegetable and Fruit Research and Production Camp, Coc mountain and Am Duong mountain.
Festival of Autumn "Autumn Flavors" 2026 is not only a series of activities to celebrate National Day 2.9 but also an opportunity for Bac Ha to introduce the beauty of landscapes, culture, cuisine, agricultural products and community life to tourists.
