Recognized as a provincial-level tourist area since 2020, Bac Ha has an additional foundation for development. In recent years, a series of policies to support tourism development have been implemented synchronously, from capital support for people doing community tourism, cultural preservation, to infrastructure investment, upgrading accommodation facilities and strengthening promotion.
Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, Bac Ha tourism has had a clear recovery and growth after the COVID-19 epidemic. The number of tourists has increased rapidly over the years.
If in 2021 it only reached about 150,000 visitors, in 2022 it increased to 415,000 visitors, this number continued to grow to 650,000 visitors in 2023 and 671,000 visitors in 2024.
Tourism revenue also increased correspondingly from 150 billion VND to about 671 billion VND.

The tourism service system is gradually being completed with many hotels, guesthouses, homestays and dining and entertainment establishments. In particular, typical tourism products are increasingly clearly defined such as market tourism, Tam Hoa plum garden experience, community tourism in villages, or nature discovery activities.
In addition, festivals such as the White Plateau Festival, traditional horse racing festivals... not only contribute to cultural preservation but also become "meeting points" attracting tourists every year.
An important highlight in Bac Ha's development journey is linking tourism with people's livelihoods. Many households have participated in community tourism, opened homestays, business services, and handicraft production...

From methodical steps, Bac Ha is gradually affirming its role as a tourism growth pole of Lao Cai, together with Sa Pa forming the province's key tourism development axis.
According to the orientation to 2030, Bac Ha will become a unique tourist destination of the Northwest region, moving towards the goal of becoming a national tourist area.
With the available advantages, along with the involvement of the government and people, the "white plateau" of Bac Ha is gradually becoming an attractive destination on the Vietnam tourism map.
