Ensuring safety for tourists before super typhoon Ragasa

Ý Yên |

Proactively responding to super typhoon Ragasa, the Prime Minister requested the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to ensure the safety of tourists and tourism activities.

The Prime Minister has just issued Official Dispatch No. 170/CD-TTg dated September 22, 2025, requesting ministries, branches and localities from Quang Ngai to the North to urgently deploy measures to respond to super typhoon Ragasa.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (up to now), super typhoon Ragasa is likely to directly affect the mainland of the Northern and North Central provinces.

This is a very strong storm (now a super typhoon and will continue to maintain super typhoon level for the next 2 days when operating in the East Sea), the range of strong winds is very wide (from the north latitude of 18 and above, there are very strong winds), especially it is necessary to be on guard against thunderstorms before the storm directly affects (even when the center of the storm is about 300-400km away).

To respond to super typhoon Ragasa early and remotely, ensure the safety of people's lives, and minimize property damage, first of all to ships and activities at sea and along the coast, the Prime Minister requested to closely monitor the storm's developments, review response plans, proactively evacuate people, and ensure the safety of life and property.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment monitors, forecasts, and protects dykes, dams, and agricultural production; the Ministry of Construction ensures the safety of works and traffic; the Ministry of Industry and Trade maintains the safety of industrial production, electricity, gasoline, and essential goods.

The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security have arranged forces to support evacuation and rescue; the Ministry of Science and Technology to ensure communication; the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health to protect students and maintain medical examination and treatment activities.

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism directs the implementation of safety assurance for tourists and tourism activities, especially at sea, on islands and coastal areas.

Coastal localities from Quang Ninh to Quang Ngai, especially: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Hue (areas forecast to have very strong storm winds) postpone unnecessary meetings, mobilize the political system to participate, focus on controlling ships, guiding movement, safe shelters, while reinforcing houses, works, protecting agricultural production and infrastructure.

Depending on the situation, you can limit or ban the sea, control vehicles during the storm that causes strong winds and heavy rain.

At the same time, promptly deploy preventive measures at sea, islands, along the coast and on land; reinforce houses, works, and sea dykes; support people to harvest agricultural products with the motto "green at home, greener in the fields" to reduce damage.

Review plans, forces and means to be ready to organize and deploy support for evacuation and relocation of people in unsafe areas before the storm directly affects and deploy response, rescue and relief work when bad situations occur.
