On the morning of October 30, the international seminar "Cultural industry with sustainable tourism development in Vietnam in the context of international integration" took place at Tam Chuc National Tourist Area, Ninh Binh.
Attending the workshop were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association, Mr. Bui Van Manh - Director of the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism... and international delegates, experts from domestic and foreign tourism training associations and schools.
The workshop aims to research and propose solutions for developing the cultural industry associated with sustainable tourism development in Vietnam in the current context, in order to meet the increasing needs and requirements of the tourism market.

Speaking at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Dao Manh Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Training Association, said that the cultural industry helps create unique tourism products imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic groups and localities, creating difference and increasing competitiveness for tourist destinations.
On the contrary, tourism is a channel to promote and develop the cultural industry to domestic and foreign tourists, expand consumption markets and increase revenue for cultural industries.
In addition, tourism also completes a value to promote the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values, creating momentum for the creativity and development of cultural industries.
We are striving for the cultural industry based on creativity, science and technology and intellectual property to achieve the target of contributing 7% of GDP by 2030. The economy is diverse with strong growth in the tourism industry, including cultural tourism. Although there are many resources and many potentials, the starting point for building a cultural industry in Vietnam is not high, said Prof. Dr. Dao Manh Hung.
Therefore, the workshop is expected to discuss 5 main groups of issues, including the role of the cultural industry in sustainable tourism development and linking the cultural - tourism value chain; exploiting resources and indigenous cultural elements to build creative tourism products; preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage; promoting international cooperation in the field of cultural and tourism industry; along with solutions to ensure sustainable tourism development.

Representing a locality that owns abundant resources to develop cultural tourism, Dr. Bui Van Manh, Director of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, shared that in order to effectively exploit local cultural heritage resources in a sustainable way, Ninh Binh aims to choose which issue is most valuable to do first, which can be divided into clusters for development.
"Whether cultural tourism can be developed or not depends on the locality, from which it has the resonance to jointly develop the country's cultural industry. Ninh Binh is developing a policy to support the organization of large-scale cultural and music events, souvenirs...", Mr. Bui Van Manh expressed.
The international scientific conference attracted 200 presentations from scientists, institutes, and research centers at home and abroad. This will be a premise for managers, experts, and tourism workers to discuss the most practical inventions and solutions for the increasingly developing Ninh Binh cultural industry in particular and the whole country in general.
