On April 6, a video recording images of Vung Tau beach (HCMC) floating white foam was posted on social networks, attracting the attention of many people. Among them, many opinions expressed concern about this phenomenon.
The person who filmed the video above, Mr. Minh Phuc (born in 1997), said that the image was filmed at about 3 am on April 5, in the area near Tam Thang tower, Vung Tau ward. While playing at the beach, seeing white foam rising, Mr. Phuc used his phone to record this phenomenon.
I didn't feel the stench, the air was still normal. Even out of curiosity, I waded into the foam, but there was nothing unusual," Mr. Phuc said.
Regarding the above incident, the Vung Tau Ward Public Service Center said that it has grasped the information and identified this as a natural phenomenon due to the impact of strongly developed microalgae. In recent days, functional forces have also continuously inspected along the beach to monitor and review. On the morning of April 6, the impact of microalgae has decreased sharply, and seawater has mostly returned to normal.

Previously, due to the influence of microalgae, seawater in the coastal area of Vung Tau in many places turned green (many people also call it "matcha" blue), and in some places even turned purple. In the night, microalgae grows or dies, releasing a large amount of organic matter (including mucus, protein and organic fats) into the water environment.
This causes a certain amount of mucus in the seawater, along with waves crashing, to create an effect like "stirring" up and creating bubbles, leading to the above phenomenon, and usually only appearing for a short time.
