In May 2025, Hai Phong will celebrate the 70th anniversary of Liberation Day (May 13,55 - May 13, 2025) and receive the noble title "Heroic City". On this occasion, Hai Phong city organized a team approval program and mass parade to celebrate the special holiday.
On the morning of May 5, the first rehearsal took place at the City Theater Square. Of the 44 blocks participating in the team approval and parade program, there are 3 ceremony blocks (National emblem, Party flag, Fatherland flag; Uncle Ho photo photo album; City symbol vehicle); 18 blocks of armed forces teams are headed by the Hai Phong City Military Command and 23 mass parade blocks and model cars are headed by the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The participants marched along the Tran Hung Dao route - through the City Theater Square - Quang Trung - In front of the Monument of female General Le Chan - Nguyen Duc Canh - Tran Phu.
Hai Phong plans to organize 2 more training sessions on May 7 and 9. After that, the official rehearsal program began at 7:30 a.m. on May 10.
The official mass parade program took place from 7:30 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. on May 11 at the City Theater Square and the streets in the City Central Strip.
Previously, Hai Phong City Police also announced a ban on vehicles moving through many central streets from 6:30 a.m. on May 5, 7, 9, 10, and 11 until the end of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13,55 - May 13, 2025).
In addition, the event celebrating the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day is also associated with the 12th Red Phuong Flower Festival with the theme "Hai Phong - 70 years of faith and aspiration to rise up". More than 110 art, sports, cultural and tourism promotion activities are organized throughout the year to serve visitors from April 30 to June 1.
The highlight is the opening program on the evening of May 13 with a 3D Mapping, Lazer Mapping performance, and artistic fireworks display at 6 locations. The series of events promises to attract a large number of people and tourists to Hai Phong.
