As Vietnamese Women's Day approaches, October 20, Ho Thi Ky flower market - one of the largest fresh flower hotspots in Ho Chi Minh City - is starting to enter a vibrant time.
According to Lao Dong, from early morning on October 18, the buying and selling atmosphere at the market was quite bustling.
Among the bustling crowd, Mr. Tran Minh Khanh (residing in Phu Dinh ward) shared that he wanted to go to the largest fresh flower market in Ho Chi Minh City to buy the freshest and most beautiful flowers.
I want to choose flowers and wrap flowers myself as a way to express my affection for the most important women, my mother and my wife, he said.
Similarly, Mr. Tran Bao Phuc (residing in Binh Trung ward) shared that he has looked at many fresh flower models but still wants to go to the market to choose more.
"I want the bouquet of flowers to be satisfying, beautiful, and express the meaning that I want to convey. It is not only a gift, but also a heart. Hopefully, my recipient will find it fun and we will take the next steps in our love story," said Mr. Phuc.

Ho Thi Ky Flower Market is also a destination that attracts many tourists when coming to Ho Chi Minh City. Having the opportunity to travel from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Le Quynh Huong (Hanoi) felt excited to experience the bustling atmosphere of October 20 early in the center of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to traders at the market, this year's flower prices have increased slightly by 10 to 20% compared to normal days, mainly due to increased demand for flowers during the holiday. Flowers such as roses, sunflowers, babies, cat's milk... are the most imported.
"Currently, many flower orders from agencies and companies are being urgently completed, and the demand for individual customers to buy flowers has also begun to increase. The peak will fall on October 19 and 20, so we have to increase human resources very early to package and deliver flowers," said the owner of a fresh flower stall.

In addition to domestic flowers such as Da Lat, Dong Thap, this year many stalls also imported flowers from Ecuador, the Netherlands, Japan... to serve customers with high-end needs. Blands and flower boxes are also invested more in form, from silk paper, ribbon to wooden boxes, with handwritten cards.
It is forecasted that purchasing power will increase sharply in the coming days, when gratitude and flower giving activities in agencies, schools and businesses enter their peak.
