Looking to buy a peach blossom branch for her family, Ms. Phan Ngoc Loan (living in District 5) said she had to visit more than 3 shops at the District 10 flower market to choose the branch she liked.
"Every year, my family buys peach blossoms to celebrate Tet because they are beautiful and cozy, so this year, I continue to buy them. However, the price of peach branches is higher than last year, about 100,000-150,000 VND/branch" - Ms. Loan shared.
According to Lao Dong, at Ho Thi Ky flower market - a large flower market in Ho Chi Minh City, the types of flowers sold are diverse, from traditional flowers such as chrysanthemums, willows, lotuses... to high-class imported flowers such as phalaenopsis orchids, tulips, peonies...
The later it gets, the more visitors come to the market, causing congestion in front of the market and full parking lots. Authorities are also present to regulate traffic and ensure safety for people when shopping at the market.
"Although it's crowded, going to the market these days, I can feel the hustle and bustle of the end of the year and the approaching Tet. Going to the market at night, the weather is also more pleasant, there are many beautiful flowers, good quality" - Ms. Thanh Kieu (living in Binh Thanh district) shared.
The atmosphere of flower buying is bustling, in which, snow plum, peach, lily... are the items that many people are looking to buy. Snow plum costs 70,000-150,000 VND/bunch (depending on the type), willow costs 120,000-130,000 VND/bunch, mini peach branches cost 250,000-800,000 VND/branch, peach blossoms cost from 400,000 VND to several million VND...
"This year, the shop imported fresh flowers in large quantities and at stable prices. Although there were many customers, there was no price increase or shortage of goods. We also tried to bring many types of flowers at stable prices to meet people's needs," said Thanh Hoa, a trader at Ho Thi Ky flower market.
However, according to many traders, despite the large number of customers, this year's purchasing power is still not as high as previous years. Partly due to the difficult economic situation, partly because people tend to choose small, compact flowers that can be kept for a long time.
