The prestigious Prix Versailles architecture award recently announced the list of the 6 most beautiful airports in the world in 2024. Accordingly, Terminal 2 of Changi Airport (Singapore) and Satellite Terminal 1 of Suvarnabhumi Airport (Thailand) have made it to this list. These two airports stand out with their excellent design and bring positive experiences to visitors.
Changi Airport Terminal 2 (Singapore) just reopened in November 2023 after three and a half years of expansion and upgrade. The airport's highlight is Wonderfall, a 14-meter-tall digital display that simulates a waterfall in the departure hall area.
The rest of the terminal is decorated with a natural beauty, from carpets reminiscent of the sea to columns and beams covered in green trees. In addition, the southern garden of the terminal offers a resting space under an LED ceiling that changes according to the actual weather conditions.
The terminal also has self-service check-in counters, baggage claim areas and new boarding lanes, making it easier for customers to get to the boarding gate.
Meanwhile, the satellite terminal 1 of Suvarnabhumi Airport (SAT-1) in Bangkok has a distinctly Thai design. Legendary creatures from the Himmapan forest appear on the third floor of the terminal. In the departure hall, visitors can see the majestic Himmapan elephant statue, and images of Kinnanorn, Hemaraj and Hongsa can be seen all over the floor.
