The Hoanh Mo border gate (Binh Lieu, Vietnam) - Dong Trung (Phoong Thanh, China) officially opened the border to tourists and border residents from February 25, 2025.
According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Binh Lieu district, Hoanh Mo border gate welcomes about 100 visitors every day, of which Chinese tourist groups mainly visit during the day.
On March 31, the People's Committee of Binh Lieu district (Quang Ninh, Vietnam) and the People's Government of Phong Thanh area (Phong Thanh Cang city, Guangxi, China) co-organized a friendly cycling activity across the border, attracting 300 athletes from both countries to participate.
The event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China and in response to the Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025.
At the same time, concretize the content of the agreement and cooperation reached at the Early Spring Meeting 2025 program between the Provincial Party Secretaries of Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Ha Giang provinces (Vietnam) and the Secretary of the Quang Tay Ethnic Minorities Area Party Committee, China.

Cycling activities start from Hoanh Mo border gate on National Highway 18C to the center of Binh Lieu district (15km long).
Mr. Pham Duc Thang - Chairman of Binh Lieu District People's Committee - said: "The border bicycle event is an activity of people-to-people, sports and cultural exchanges between the two localities. In 2025, Binh Lieu district aims to welcome 500,000 visitors, including 20,000 international visitors.
