The People's Committee of Ninh Kieu District (Can Tho City) has just issued a plan to organize the 7th "Tourism Festival - Ninh Kieu, Can Tho Lantern Night" in 2024. This is one of the highlight activities in the series of tourism activities of Ninh Kieu District and Can Tho City.
The festival has two highlight activities: the Opening Ceremony of the 7th Ninh Kieu, Can Tho Tourism Festival - Lantern Night 2024 at 7:00 p.m. on December 30; Light and water music performance on the river on the two nights of December 30-31.
In particular, the light and water music art performance on the river is a combination of music, light and water to create impressive and unique performances. The water music is equipped with a system of speakers, lights, water jets and modern projectors to create diverse and vivid sound and image effects.
Many activities are hosted by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) of the city within the framework of the festival such as: Street music activities; Tourism promotion booths; Don ca tai tu performances, folk songs, lullabies. Activities hosted by the People's Committee of Ninh Kieu district include: Lantern design contest - model; Floating lanterns; Cake - Folk cuisine booth; Product display booth of sponsoring units; Flashmob dance performance.
The festival is organized to create conditions for tourism production and business establishments inside and outside the city to connect and cooperate on tours and routes with travel companies, in order to attract tourists to Ninh Kieu district and other districts in Can Tho city.
Thereby, raising the awareness of the whole community about the importance of tourism, gradually building the image of Ninh Kieu tourism to domestic and foreign tourists.
Continue to promote traditional cultural values with typical tourism of the district: MICE tourism and river tourism; create many community exchange activities of districts in the city and tourists from near and far.
