On August 17, the People's Committee of Ea Knuek commune coordinated to organize a working session with a group of Chinese enterprises led by Mr. Chen Wanshan, Director of Market Development of China Co-op Group. The delegation included nearly 30 enterprises to exchange and connect the trade of key agricultural products, especially durian.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Ea Knuc Commune People's Committee, said that the commune has potential for land, climate, and abundant labor to develop agriculture. Ea Knuec considers agriculture as a key economic sector of the commune. In particular, durian is a strategic crop.

Currently, the whole Ea Knuc commune has 5,153 hectares of durian with 2,530 hectares of fruit. Durian output is estimated at 55,660 tons/year. The commune currently has 9 export packaging facilities and 29 growing area codes granted for an area of over 1,133 hectares.
"Through connecting activities, the locality hopes to expand the consumption market, find more strategic partners and increase the value of agricultural products," Mr. Nguyen Van Hung emphasized.
In addition, the commune also hopes to welcome many domestic and foreign groups to visit, learn about and regularly enjoy durian and agricultural products in the garden, thereby developing the agricultural tourism model in the locality.
At the meeting, the business delegation visited the garden and listened to an introduction to durian varieties, durian care and production processes in the area. In particular, business representatives were able to directly enjoy durian and durian products in Ea Knuoc commune.

Mr. Mai Dinh Tho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Clean Agricultural Service Cooperative (Ea Knuc commune), said: "In recent years, the cooperative has shaped and focused on developing the agricultural tourism sector. Visitors here will learn about the technical processes for growing and caring for durian.
Visitors can also participate in many processes such as pumping off durian, watering, harvesting fruit and enjoying durian fruits that they care for and harvest with their own hands. The experiences of immersing themselves in the lives of local people make many tourists excited and highly appreciated".
Mr. Tho added that recently, the number of visitors to and experience the Cooperative is about 10,000 people/year. Of which, mainly official visitors are from Chinese enterprises.
In addition, the Cooperative also welcomed tourist groups and working groups from a number of universities in Australia to learn about the model, research on the operating process and durian care techniques.
"Many young people in the city also come here to relax, immerse themselves in nature and experience life with local farmers," said Mr. Tho.
Currently, agricultural tourism models in Ea Knuec commune are mainly done by cooperative members, and are still spontaneous. In the coming time, people hope to receive support from the State, local authorities and travel businesses so that the model can be invested more systematically, thereby attracting more tourists to visit and shop.
At the meeting, Chinese enterprises expressed their desire to learn and connect with the locality in the coming time.
At the same time, the business also hopes to bring groups of visitors to visit, learn and enjoy durian in the garden.
