Hai Phong - Co Island tourist area has welcomed over 25,000 visitors in the first 8 months of 2026, with basic safe and stable sightseeing and tourism activities.

According to Nam Thanh Mien commune, Hai Phong city, the Management Board for Conservation and Tourism Exploitation at the National Relic and Scenic Site of Co Island, Nam Thanh Mien commune, has just organized a Conference to evaluate the results of work in 8 months of 2026; deploy tasks for the last 4 months of the year and preparations for welcoming guests on the occasion of National Day September 2nd.

According to the report, in the first 8 months of 2026, the management and conservation of storks and macaques and the protection of the natural ecosystem at Dao Co Tourist Area continue to be identified as a key task.

Environmental sanitation and landscape embellishment are maintained regularly; waste in the wharf area, campus, lake surface and around the islands is collected and treated. Green trees, vines and dry, broken branches are cared for and pruned, contributing to creating a favorable environment for storks and clams to reside and reproduce.

Along with that, propaganda and mobilization work for people and tourists to raise awareness of wildlife protection, not to hunt, trap, trade or harm storks, hawks and wild birds is being concerned and implemented.

In 8 months, Dao Co Tourist Area has welcomed over 25,000 visitors. Tourism activities contribute to promoting the image of the National Relic and Scenic Spot Dao Co, introducing the homeland and people of Nam Thanh Mien, and at the same time promoting the consumption of typical products, agricultural products, goods and services in the area.

Security, order, and safety for tourists are maintained. The Management Board coordinates with the Commune Police and relevant forces to regularly grasp the situation, inspect vehicles and equipment serving tourists; pay attention to fire prevention and fighting, preventing accidents, drowning and protecting property. In the first 8 months of the year, the security and order situation at the tourist area was basically stable, and sightseeing activities took place safely.

In the last 4 months of 2026, the Management Board will continue to strengthen management and administration; maintain the conservation of storks and clams and protect the ecological environment; embellish the landscape, and improve the quality of service to tourists.

At the same time, research and develop more experiential products associated with nature, environmental education and local culture; promote information, propaganda, and promote the image of Co Island on information platforms and social networks.

In particular, before the National Day of September 2nd, the Management Board focuses on preparing conditions to serve tourists, including focusing on arranging personnel to be on duty, guide and serve tourists; ensuring environmental sanitation and landscape; inspecting wharves, vehicles, and equipment; strengthening security, order and safety, towards building a civilized and friendly tourism environment.
