According to the Department of Culture and Society of Nam Thanh Mien Commune (Hai Phong City), from the beginning of the year to July 3, the Co Island eco-tourism area has welcomed nearly 35,000 visitors, an increase of about 5,000 compared to the same period in 2024.
The main reason for the sharp increase in the number of visitors is the long holiday and Tet holiday in the first half of this year, favorable weather, along with the special attraction of the natural scenery and wild life of storks and reindeer in this area.
Most tourists choose to go to Co Island early in the morning or late afternoon to admire special moments when each herd of silver storks flies all over the sky, "go to sea" to earn food and return to their nests.
To meet the increasing demand, the Management Board of Co Island Eco-tourism Area has arranged 20 motorboats, speedboats and 9 regular service staff.
The shops in the premises are neatly arranged, providing a variety of dining, refreshment, and resting services... Traffic regulation, diversion and security and order are always maintained well, creating a sense of security for visitors.
Since 2023, Co Island has implemented electronic ticket sales, making it convenient for customers to buy tickets, avoiding jostling and queuing during peak season. Notably, despite the increase in the number of visitors, ticket prices and services here are still kept stable: entrance fee is 20,000 VND/trip for adults and 10,000 VND/trip for children; price for renting a speedboat is 100,000 VND/trip.
The Co Island Eco-tourism Area has an area of over 31 hectares, and is home to about 20,000 birds of 52 different species, mainly storks and herons. This is considered one of the attractive ecological - experiential destinations in Hai Phong, especially attracting families, photographers and students to learn about the natural ecosystem.
