According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, from June 6-7, in Hoi An (Da Nang City) will take place the 8th "We Ride Cycling" week in 2026 with the theme "Green Heritage Journey", aiming to spread a green lifestyle, promote sustainable transportation and promote the image of an environmentally friendly heritage city.
The event is organized by Ashui.com in coordination with the People's Committees of Hoi An, Hoi An Tay and Hoi An Dong wards, in response to World Cycling Day (June 3) and World Environment Day (June 5).
According to the Organizing Committee, in the context of urban areas and tourist destinations increasingly focusing on sustainable development, Hoi An is considered a pioneering locality with many initiatives to protect the environment, reduce emissions and encourage the use of environmentally friendly vehicles.
The highlight of the program is the community cycling activity "Hoi An Green Heritage Journey" taking place on the morning of June 6. The motorcade will depart from Hoi An Park, passing through many routes and typical heritage points of the ancient town before ending at Thanh Ha Pottery Village.
Besides cycling activities, people and tourists also have the opportunity to visit the thematic photo exhibition "Hoi An - Bicycle Rendezvous" on Pham Phan street, introducing moments associated with bicycle culture and local life.
Also on June 6, the seminar "Hoi An - Low-emission Urban, Bicycle Rendezvous" will be held at Thanh Ha Terracotta Park - Museum.
The program gathers many experts, managers and community representatives to exchange views on the trend of low-emission urban development, the role of bicycles in the carbon emission reduction strategy and the potential to build Hoi An into a green tourist destination.
Mr. Le Quoc Viet - Chairman of the Quang Destination Club, member of the Organizing Committee said: "With this year's series of activities, we want to build an open connection space, where ideas about responsible tourism, green transportation and community development are widely shared.
What makes the Week of Cycling - Hoi An 2026 special will not be the distance or number of participants but the connection spirit brought about by the event.
On that journey, there are local people, tourists, businesses, environmental lovers and even people who simply want to spend a day slowing down.
