On July 4, a workshop and business connection workshop on promoting Japanese tourism in 2025 was held in Da Nang, with the participation of businesses, managers, and representatives of tourism promotion agencies of the two countries.
Here, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang Mori Takero delivered the opening speech at the workshop on Connecting Business and Trade to Promote Japanese Tourism in 2025 in Da Nang.
Mr. Mori Takero said that through the merger of Da Nang city and Quang Nam province, the new Da Nang city has received many rich tourism resources.
Specifically, besides the world heritages of Hoi An and My Son, there are also green tourist destinations such as Hoiana resort, Tra Ly lotus pond, community tourism destinations such as pottery village, and tea shops in the rice fields near Hoi An...
On July 3, Da Nang resumed the direct flight between Osaka and Da Nang. This is a very timely event, especially in the context of the World Exhibition in Osaka (EXPO 2025) attracting great attention from Vietnamese tourists. In addition, for Narita, the plane will soon be upgraded to a larger model.
In the coming time, with the development of the semiconductor and AI industry, along with the formation of the Free Trade Zone and the International Financial Center, the number of commercial visitors is expected to continue to increase.
According to Mr. Mori Takero, in 2024, the number of tourists from Japan to Vietnam will reach 166,500, an increase of 2.5 times compared to 2023. During Prime Minister Ishiba's visit to Vietnam in April this year, the two countries of Japan and Vietnam expressed their determination to further promote tourism exchanges with the goal of reaching 2 million two-way tourists per year.
"We expect businesses and partners to proactively make the most of the existing favorable conditions of the new Da Nang City, the increase of direct flights, along with the increasing business demand, to make a practical contribution to the realization of the goals agreed upon by the two countries' senior leaders," Mr. Mori Takero emphasized.
Along with that, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City - said that in the development orientation in the coming time, Da Nang aims to become a high-quality tourism and service center, a creative destination for Vietnam and Southeast Asia by 2030, aiming to become one of the leading tourism centers in Asia and the world by 2045.
Currently, Da Nang is connected to Japan through 11 direct flights per week, including 7 flights from Narita and 4 flights from Osaka. This is a favorable condition to further promote tourism, trade and cultural exchanges between the two sides.
