During the 5-day National Day holiday September 2, Dien Bien welcomed about 55,000 visitors, an increase of 15.48% compared to 2025. Total revenue from tourism activities is estimated at 92 billion VND.
According to statistics from Dien Bien province, from August 29 to September 2, the average room occupancy rate in the area reached about 45%.
To serve people and tourists during the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2nd, Dien Bien province has directed departments, branches, and localities to carefully prepare facilities and services at tourist areas and historical sites.
During the holidays, many cultural, sports and tourism activities are organized, creating more attraction for destinations.
Notably, there is the 2026 Dan Vu Festival; cultural, artistic and sports activities at Keo Lom market fair, Na Son commune; opening tourism activities at the border crossing of 3 countries Vietnam - Laos - China and A Pa Chai Flagpole.
The locality also inaugurated the Tu Lu - Tia Lo community tourism village, Pu Nhi commune, opening up more space for local cultural experiences for tourists.
In many communes, cultural exchange, sports, nature experience and check-in activities are organized, attracting a large number of people and tourists.
Historical destinations, including the Dien Bien Phu Museum, continue to attract visitors, contributing to promoting the image of Dien Bien and promoting local tourism.
