According to the Hong Kong Tourism Authority (China) (TIA), the 2 companies suspended from operating licenses are Go Go Ming Travel Services Limited and Grandee Travel Company Limited. A tour guide named Sun Kwun-ying was also suspended from operating licenses.
The two companies successively organized tours for tourists in February and April this year.
TIA said that these businesses do not take necessary measures to protect tourists from forced shopping during sightseeing trips.
According to local media, tour guide Sun Kwun-ying is accused of using threats to pressure tourists to buy goods.
TIA affirms that it does not tolerate coercive procurement and other violations that may affect the image of Hong Kong (China) as a tourist destination.
This agency said it will continue to apply strong measures against acts that infringe on tourist rights or cause damage to the tourism industry.
Hong Kong (China) is currently the second most visited city in the world by international tourists, after Bangkok. In the first 7 months of 2026, the city welcomed 31.22 million visitors, an increase of 12% compared to the same period in 2025.
