On the afternoon of March 19, many people and tourists, including international tourists, flocked to Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square (Hoan Kiem District) to take photos with the "Shark Seagull" building.
The space in the already crowded Square area is now even more bustling, everyone is eagerly hoping to "check-in" with a symbol of Hoan Kiem Lake area before it is dismantled.

Taking advantage of the afternoon of next week's "Shark Ham" to take photos, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dao (23 years old, Thai Binh) was still surprised when so many people came here. Although she has only been living and working in Hanoi for a few years, Ms. Dao said that this is a familiar place for her and her friends whenever they walk around Hoan Kiem Lake.

The cafes in the Sharp Ham building are where my friends and I often sit when there is a music event at Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square. Sitting up there, I can easily follow the performance below, as well as have a view to fully admire the ancient beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, said Ms. Dao.
The "Shark Ham" building was built from 1991 - 1993, on the foundation of the old electric car house and the Ho Bo Cement Culture. With unique architecture, simulating a giant shark jaw, this project not only impresses with its unique design but also with its prime location, the "center of the center". existing for decades, the building has become a place associated with the memories of Hanoians and tourists from all over the world.

For Ms. Tran Huyen Trang (39 years old, Hanoi), the "Shark Hamlet" building preserves many sweet moments of her and her husband. "My husband and I often come here to date, eat and drink at familiar restaurants together. On weeknights, sitting next to each other, from the "Ham ca ca wait" building, looking out at Hoan Kiem Lake, The Huc Bridge is sparkling with lights, feeling very cozy and close", Ms. Trang expressed.
As for Ms. Thanh Ha (62 years old, Hoan Kiem district), born and raised in Hanoi, the building "Sharp Fishing Port" has become a familiar image in her daily life. Many walks, photos, perhaps photos with the building before it was demolished brought the most exited feeling.
"However, demolishing the building to bring more air and value to the surrounding area is a completely reasonable thing," Ms. Thanh Ha expressed.

Despite receiving mixed opinions from urban planning experts at the time of its opening, the "Shark Dock" building today has still become an important architectural highlight in Hoan Kiem district, one of the places with the most visitors from Hanoi.
Hanoi will abandon the "Shark Ham" building before April 30, 2025. After demolishing the "Shark brothers" building and combining it with the surrounding street, it will create about 1.2 hectares of space to serve the community in Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square. This is part of a project to renovate, embellish and reconstruct the Hoan Kiem Lake area - an area of special historical and cultural value.
