Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc - Deputy Director of Huong Pagoda Tourism Transport Cooperative (Huong Son commune, Hanoi) said that since midnight on October 7, his phone has been ringing continuously. Throughout the night, he received calls for help from flooded areas.
Mr. Duc informed that since the night of October 7, the Cooperative's boat group has set out to rescue people in flooded areas. Accordingly, the Cooperative brought 3 canoes to Bac Ninh and 13 to Lang Son.

"Canoes have been raised to help bring people in flooded areas to safety. In addition, the groups of boats also transport relief goods and necessities to people in flooded areas," said Mr. Duc.
7 motorboats, 100 hand-held rowing boats along with many life jackets and essential drinking water were also transported to Phu Binh commune, Thai Nguyen province.
The boat and boat teams of Huong Pagoda are familiar with the river and complex terrain. The human resources of the boat and motorboat teams will directly participate in rescue work, transport people to safe places, and supply goods and necessities.
The cooperative has received direct distress calls from people, thereby transferring information to coordinate with localities to quickly rescue in time.

Mr. Duc added that this relief organization action was approved by the People's Committee of Huong Son commune, which is also the wish of the Cooperative with the desire to help people in flooded areas.
"Unfortunately, due to the sudden natural disaster, we have not had time to set up a permanent rescue team for the area from the Central region onwards. After this period, we will ask for permission from the Cooperative to establish a separate team, proactively preparing for future relief activities," said Mr. Duc.
Accordingly, after the team is established, the Cooperative will mobilize both boat drivers and volunteers to participate, organize training and be ready to respond when a flood incident occurs, to help people as soon as possible.
Currently, Huong Pagoda Tourism Transport Cooperative has about more than 4,000 boats and ferries. The canoe boats participating in the rescue and cargo transportation alone have a total of about 20 boats.
With the support of local leaders, the Cooperative always cares about and regularly coordinates with provinces affected by natural disasters and floods to carry out support and relief work during the flood season.
Previously, when super typhoon Yagi made landfall in 2024, the Cooperative sent canoes and motorboats to Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho to support people in flooded areas.
