In early October, the North is likely to welcome a second cold spell, with rain in many places. This cold spell is forecast to have the same intensity as the first cold spell of the season, preventing temperatures in the North from dropping too much.

In the Central region, there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places. In the afternoon, the clouds will decrease and it will be sunny with the highest temperature in some places above 33 degrees Celsius. In the Central Highlands and the South, there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. It will be sunny during the day.

Floods on rivers continue to recede. The water level downstream of the Ma River at Giang has dropped to level 1; the Hoang Long, Chu and Ca rivers have dropped below level 1.

Flooding in the districts of Thach Thanh, Quan Hoa, Tho Xuan, Yen Dinh, Thieu Hoa, Thuong Xuan, Muong Lat, Cam Thuy, and Nhu Xuan will continue for the next 1-2 days, then gradually decrease. There is a high risk of landslides in mountainous areas in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces.
